2023-2024 Celtic Quaich: A sunny day in Belgium for golf!

We were treated to a day full of sun, warm temperatures, and a course in tremendous condition.

While the NATO Golf Club is used to playing through the elements, we were quite pleased with sunshine and temperatures in the low to mid 20s (Celsius).

As mentioned in past blogs, Golf L’Empereur is one of the top two courses that we play during the season and the experience did not disappoint.  Of all the 2023-2024 events conducted to date, the course at L’Empereur is currently in the best playing shape.  From manicured fairways, to greens in immaculate conditions we were in for a treat this weekend to say the least.

We are pleased that this course, which was once a stop on the DP World Tour, will continue to serve as one of our staple yearly events.

Seven of our members participated in the event which was a great way to start the weekend.

As we get closer to the end of the season with two events left Darryl Rupp continues to be the golfer to beat.  With his victory today Darryl has extended his overall lead in season points by 10.

Jan Johansen put on a very good performance finishing in a close 2nd Place.  With this finish Jan also jumped in the standings from being tied for 10th place to now tied for 7th place.

Joe O’Leary absolutely crushed a drive on hole 6 which was well out of reach for the rest of the group.

In addition to finishing in 2nd place, Jan also won closest to the pin on hole #11

Our next event is the 2023-2024 Season Club Championship which will take place on 8 June at Golf Chateau de la Tournette.  Please help to get the word out to members.

Thanks to all for your continued support of our golf club.
