On 10 February we kicked off the calendar year by playing at Golf De Pierpont. The Valentine’s Massacre is not for the faint of heart with challenging team rules and our golfers proved to be more than up for the test. Credit goes to the grounds crew at Golf De Pierpont who did a great job in maintaining course conditions through the frequent rainfall we have seen in the Brussels region these past few weeks. All in all, this was another great opportunity to come together as friends and enjoy a round of golf!
Darryl Rupp and Wolfgang Wien were the team to beat taking home first place with an adjusted score of 74. This victory now puts Darryl in first place in overall club standings with a two point lead. Ken Emerson and Chan Faymetta came in second place with an adjusted score of 78. The margin between first and second place was close to say the least! Well done to both teams.
Annick Rynders won the long drive (female category) with a tremendous shot on hole #17.
Annick also took home closest to the pin on hole #15. Annick now sits in second place in overall club standings.
Darryl Rupp dominated the day, in addition to securing first place in the team competition he also powered through with the longest male drive on hole #17.
Our next event is a friendly competition scheduled to take place on 9 March at Winge Golf and Country Club. Please help to get the word out to members.
As always, we thank you all for your continued support as members of our golf club. Warmer weather and sunny skies are just around the corner. We hope to see as many members as possible at our upcoming events.
