Temperatures of -3 Degrees Celsius could not keep us off the course this weekend. While the air might have been frigid, we were able to get in a good round of golf and enjoyed having the chance to get the NGC back together again following the New Year.
This year’s Celtic Quaich took place at “Golf de Pierpont” which is close to Waterloo. Despite some challenging weather over these past few weeks the course was in good condition. Golf de Pierpont is one of the staple clubs we visit on a yearly basis and we look forward to our next opportunity to play it.
The overall winner of the event was Martin Sonnenberger. In addition to securing the Celtic Quaich, Martin also won closest to the pin. With this month’s showing he jumped in overall points standings from being tied for fifth place to sole possession of first place. Well done Martin!
Runner up for the event was Jon Gunther.
Arvid Halvorsen once again proved to be the long hitter of the day. Arvid hit a towering drive on hole #11.
Our next event is the Valentine’s Massacre at Golf de Falnuee on 1 February. The format is challenging but fun. We hope to see as many of our members as possible.
