It was a beautiful spring day for the NATO Golf Club at L'Empereur for the 2022 - 2023 Captain's Cup. For our current President's final event before moving on to the NATO Defence College, I'm certainly glad that it wasn't a typical rainy NGC event!
Max did find himself in some trouble, and made some amazing shots such as this one to get back into play, with a big smile enjoying the day.
Ricardo hit some amazing iron shots; we think this shot on one of the par 3s almost went in, and deflected off of the pin. He made the putt for birdie as well. Although this wasn't the hole designated for the closest to the pin, Ricardo was the only one of us to hit the green, so he also won Closest to the Pin and a Season Point to go along with it. (It wasn't nearly as close as this one!)
Ultimately, Ken Emerson took first place with a net par for 18 holes (72 net strokes) and received three Season Points along with the Cup. Darryl took second place with a net 73 strokes and also had the Longest Drive, also receiving three Season Points combined.
Our next event is the Club Championship on 10 June at La Tournette. I hope that we will have a big turnout for it!
